In spyder 2 it was very easy to go to preferences and -> editor and select
dark background. This button seems to have been removed in spyder 3. Is
there a way to get the editor to dark?

Hi,

You need to go to

|Preferences > Syntax coloring |

and select one of the dark schemes (like Zenburn or Spyder Dark)

Cheers,
Carlos
